
IPS (Retd) Mr. Rajesh Pandey
Rajesh Pandey was born on June 15, 1961, in Lalapur, Prayagraj.
He completed his M.Sc. in Botany from Allahabad University. He held the
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF)
from UGC in Botany. He was selected for the UP Provincial Police Service
(1986 batch) and subsequently became an IPS officer in the 2003 batch. He
retired on June 30, 2021, after a distinguished career as a police officer.
He served as the district police chief in six districts, including Senior
Superintendent of Police in Lucknow, Meerut, and Aligarh. Later, he served
as DIG of the Bareilly Police Range and then as IG Range. He also served as
IG Election at the DGP Headquarters. He is a founding member of the UP
STF and UPATS, and was posted as SPATS in 2016. During his deputation to
the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in 2008-2009, he worked with the
Kosovo Police as an advisor to the DG of Border and Boundary Police. He
received training at the Royal Institute of Public Administration, London, in
2010.
From 1999 to 2016, he was awarded the 'Indian Police Medal for Gallantry'
four times, a remarkable honor. He has also received the President's
'Meritorious Service Medal' (2005), the 'United Nations Medal for
Peacekeeping in Kosovo' (2008), the UP DGP's 'Silver Commendation Disc'
(2018), the 'Gold Commendation Disc' (2020), and the 'Platinum Disc'
(2021). During his deputation to the United Nations, he visited several
European countries, including Germany, Kosovo, Greece, and Serbia.
He is currently serving as the Nodal Officer in UPEIDA.
